Is anyone listening.........

Now we have entered a time in our country where government wants to find someone to blame for their failures........society wants to find someone for their failures.....banks want to find someone for their failures..........and no one wants to just admit that we were greedy...we pushed our limits financially both personally as individual citizens and as a country. we are in debt as a society up to our eye balls and on one wants to take responsability for themselves. Everyone want to blame Goldman Sachs because they bet against us.....and got rich. Just because we did fail as a society and they one then they must be the bad guys.......bull.......If you want to walk across six lanes of interstate and not get hit......I'll take bets on your demise........

The rich get richer.........and the government turns a blind eye

According to an article by the New York Times "in 2009, the government audited just one in four of the largest corporations, lower than any rate in more than 20 years In much of the last decade, as corporate profits soared and the number of wealthy Americans increased sharply, the I.R.S. periodically decreased the level of scrutiny it directed at individual taxpayers at the top of the income scale. Since 2005, the study reports, the number of hours devoted to audits of the largest companies fell 33 percent, while the hours spent auditing small businesses increased 30.4 percent and rose 12.6 percent for midsize businesses. In the same period, the number of I.R.S. audits of large corporations fell to 3,675 from 4,693, a decrease of 21.7 percent." At a time in our country when corruption and corporate irresponsability is at its highest our government seems to be doing its least to get it under control. The richest companies and the riches people are under the least scrutiny in our society today. With small business and average Americans struggling it is time that we take a look at how these companies made all their money. How these hedge funds, these banks, these stock companies, how these wealthies of the country made their money. Those of us on the bottom know how they made their bucks.....on our backs. If we cannot count on our government to have our backs and to handle the rich, the movers and shakers of our society in check......then who will?

Show me the money........

Have you been watching the stock market lately....people who have money are investing again and the market is almost up to 11,000. The government says that things are turning around and that recovery is on the way. My question....where is the money? Where is the all the billions we used to bail out all these failing banks, failing car companies failing investment corporations. Where is the money, if we are not getting it here on the bottom rung, if we are not seeing it in the form of new loans for small businesses, if we are not seeing it in the way of new construction and reinvestment into the communities and society then where is the money? General Motors says that it will be able to pay back its loans sooner than it thought...then where is the money? If the people we loaned all the money to are paying it back shouldn't the government be making money, shouldn't we have less debt? I am just the average guy but it seems that if people are paying you back then our government should not be increasing in debt but rather reducing our debt. If the rich are doing so much better, if stocks are on the rise and investments are up.....where is the money. We did to start holding our elected officials accountable and asking the question ....where is the money?
